This weekend was uncomfortable. At the end of last year I wrote a holiday card, which included this part:

Owning that vision now, here. Social feeds were full of disturbing violence. I stayed inside, home. I did chores inside and monitored current events happening in real time. And one tweet that came across my timeline was:

Initially, honestly, I was confronted, offended, insulted, ashamed. Then I watched a talk by the author, below, and looked at the website: https://tatianamac.com/posts/white-guyde/

Looked through Twitter and unfollowed 600+ accounts, now at 358 from previously over 1,100.
I will continue to look for, and recommend media from diverse perspectives and actively increase the breadth..
I will speak less when I have the impulse to talk and will check in on the points listed.
I read the comic and will log my progress.
I also deactivated Facebook. I feel compelled in the moment to do more, and I’m grateful for this thought-provoking video and article.
