iMac RAM upgrade

I upgraded my 2013 iMac to 32GB RAM, and I believe good hardware design lets users repair and enhance products after purchase.

Right to repair is the idea that consumers should be able to fix the things they own. I am interested in conservation, and I would prefer to contribute to an effort against planned obsolescence.

What I want to solve for:

  • Consume less

  • Repair the things I own

  • Thrive πŸ™πŸ½

iFixit is a wiki-based site that teaches people how to fix almost anything. Anyone can create a repair manual for a device, and anyone can also edit the existing set of manuals to improve them.

I purchased the iMac Intel 27" EMC 2639 (Late 2013) Memory Maxxer RAM Upgrade Kit1 x $299.99 + shipping + tax and it took about 5 minutes to remove the old RAM and install the new RAM.
